bugs on my peres

Ok so a few weeks ago i noticed the growth tips on my peres starting to die of for unknown reason.... i imagined it must of been from the fungus nats i'm fighting off
But today i was taking a pretty close look and noticed these yellow bugs on the leafs
wtf, and how do i kill them.

over the last month i cut my watering back from once a week to every other week in the hope to rid myself of the nats, also i have been adding some neem oil to the water.
i recently switched from cheapo potting soil to fox farm, and from just toping the planter with coir to topping them with coir and diatomaceous earth

Look kind of like thrips. Not entirely sure. Go to the big orange or blue store if you are in usa and look for captain jacks dead bug brew. Give em a spray for a few days.

yeah, im not sure what they are either, it is driving me crazy.
well i couldn't find captain jacks dead bug brew, so i purchased an insecticidal soap, the main ingredient is potassium salts of fatty acids.
i sprayed it on my peres as the instructions indicated
well i guess i'll report back with results

Please do. I'm sure the soap will work, though

Those are thrips in the OP.
Look into a product called Avid (active ingredient is abamectin) if the one you got doesn't seem to work.

yes they are thrips, after doing a little research, i have concluded that you guys are right.
i tested the spray on some of the peres, no damage was noticed, so i sprayed the whole lot including my grafts and all other cacti in my grow area
no damage noticed
i will continue to spray every five days (as directed by the instructions) for the next month to see how effective it is

The longer I am in this hobby, the better my identifications become. Especially with the indoor garden pests. I hope everything goes well for you.

Listen to karode. The Avid can be a bit expensive, but it will take care of any and all pest problems you may have. Including the gnats. You can buy a small bottle of just the active ingredient (abamectin) for relatively cheap online. Neem oil won't cure your problem. It's better used as a preventative measure, rather than a cure. Soap and water may temporarily fix your problem, but the pests will always come back. You have to kill all the bugs and their eggs, or the cycle will continue. Abamectin will do just that. There's another product called Mighty Wash that is very effective as well, and less toxic. Good luck.

so i have applied the insecticidal soap, w/ potassium salts of fatty acids as the active ingredient, 3 times now, and Saturday will be the next time i need to apply it. if i follow the directions on the bottle
So it seems to have put the thrips in check, the new growth seems unmolested but there are still some around. I don't really want any hanging around so i think i am going to step up my game
I found a shop in town that will sell me Avid by the ounce, I think this might be my best bet atm, as i would like to end their reign of destruction
so my question now is, how many applications will i need for avid to be effective
