I noticed this on one of my poppy plants. Anyone know what this could be.
Should i pull the plant out? Can this spread if the plants are touching each other?

Looks like it could be. But I'm not sure really. I'm not sure if you will need to pull it up or not... I probably wouldn't. I've read that if you dilute milk in a 1:10 ratio in water, it can be sprayed on the plant as a treatment and preventative for powdery mildew. Might wanna give that a shot...

Your pics aren't good enough to tell much about the spots. can you wipe one away and do they actually seem dry and powdery?
I think JayZ might need to drop in on this one.

Bicarbonates can be used to treat mildew.

That's not powdery mildew, or any other type of mildew. It's leaf speckling and I'm not sure of the cause. The plant will either stop producing them or they'll keep appearing. It doesn't seem to bother the plant much in my experience.

How'd you figure that out exactly? Just for reference? What are the tell tale signs of powdery mildew? Also karode, have you ever heard of the milk thing for powdery mildew? Or is it just easier/better to stick with bicarbonates like MH mentioned? Only asking to learn.

I've seen it on my plants before and I kind of id plant pests and diseases for a living. These spots are in the leaf itself and not on the surface.

What are the tell tale signs of powdery mildew?
A powdery white film, caused by fungi, that grows on the surface of leaves and is easily wiped off by hand. Usually a significant area or multiple/entire leaves are infected and not in spots like in the OP.
Here's a link about it>>>http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7493.html

Not sure about bicarbonates, never used them, but I trust that what Mostly_Harmless said to be true. Look into it.
I've mentioned milk here in the past to control it. I was taught this in Hort school and it works quite well in my experience. The milk needs to be full cream, no non-fat stuff, the link I'm about to post mentions using organic milk but I've never used organic milk and it still works.

Do you need to clean the leaves afterwards? I'd worry about the sugars in the milk encouraging other nasties to grow, like botrytis?
Potassium bicarbonate is more effective than sodium bicarbonate for mildew.

No need to clean the leaves afterwards. Although it's recommended in that article that you use a ratio of 1 part milk to 10 parts water, to avoid sooty mould problems. That's the ratio I've always used on my plants, and recommended to others.
