monotub going. Hoping to get opinions on progress of myc growth

Does everything look good here? We're on day 9. Mazapatec on WBS then monotubbed, all using Frank's Teks. Pasteurized coir and verm with gypsum for substrate. In a bright naturally-lit room and dry sunny climate (tho today we got rain, hence the darkish pics)
Also please note the funny white spot and let me know if this is okay. In person it looks harder and whiter than the myc surrounding it. I feel like I've seen and heard about this sort of growth before but cannot remember if it's contaminant or normal growth. Friend or foe.
Also anything else ya'll see I'm open to hearing from you.
Thanks to everyone

Looks like time for casing

Casing cubes is overrated in my experience.

You think? I figured it would be another week before it was colonized enough to put into fruiting conditions....
As for casing I wasn't sure. Frank seems to think it isn't necessary and a waste of time on the teks I'm using, but then I keep going through grow logs and I see a lot of disappointing tubs where only 10-25% of the surface fruits. I'm praying for a full canopy and if casing will help my chances then I'll do it.

That canopy mostly comes from good genes.. Grab yourself some tissue and make a clone for your next set, you'll be surprised at how big a difference it will make. The liner in your tub will help reduce side pinning & encourage them to grow where you want. Some ppl seem to give fresh air when they see knotting but I prefer to let a few pins pop before opening them up. Anyways, best luck with whatever you decide to do!

Much appreciated.
Love you guys. So much kindness around here. I bought some agar today. I hope to make a few tissue cultures of the strongest and fastest fruits.

Great idea brotha! I do have to agree casing a monotub isn't necessary. Casing trays is a great practice though. Really helps them stop drying out and it's a lot more lenient to how much you mist since you can't really have pooling water

LOVE YOU TOO!
If you want a AA+ print from the grow in my signature, shoot me a private message with a safe address. I like seeing new growers(I'm assuming you're new) get started with agar, agar is the single most important aspect of this hobby IMO. What's better that having clean inoculant to make unlimited spawn?
