Yo, so it's probably my 2nd or third hunt actually coming across anything somewhat promising. I went out in welly today after this hectic rain we've been having expecting an abundance of shrooms, here's what I found: I chose not too harvest any as they were all relatively small at this stage, none of the caps any bigger than a 50cent-2dollar. Caps were sort of sticky and slimy, dark brown fading to a lighter brown in places, stalks at this stage are a pretty dark, so we're white some were covered with mud - it was hard to tell. Anyone have any thought on these judging from the habitat, I guessed maybe p. Subs but I'm no expert.
On another note I saw some very promising big boys in a public mulch garden I plan on picking up when it's a little darker. Was far too public.
Any help appreciated!

Don't look like actives to me but better get a second opinion, just don't go and poison yourself before a trusted identifier helps you out.

They look promising. Need to see the stem and gills of one of them. Well I'm sure one of these TIs can tell just from those pics.

I pulled one up, it seemed to have attached light brown gills and the stem was fairly dark on this particular one. Some of them however had white stems.
From what I've seen the caps look promising but the stem and gills are letting them down imo

Post a pic of stem and gills if you can. I dunno, zooming in on the closeup, I think they may be a bust. Probably something nasty like Galerina.

Yes they do, there is bruising all over those. Bear in mind the bruising might not always be 'blue', but more a of black.

im also a noob, but what you have there looks pretty delicious, no poison from that haul. maybe make a tea? you can look into different methods of ingesting them online and find the one you like the sound of.

Depends on the size. I'd say three of the larger ones in your picture if you're new to the experience. Subs are one of the most potent mushrooms in the world, if not the most potent.

between 5 to 10 for a good experience with medium sized shrooms.
its really up to set and setting, and your own neuropharmacology, and the strength of the mushrooms of course.
but if youve only ever had weak lsd (the usual case these days) then 10 might blow your socks off.

I don't know about that, for someone with a tolerance using dried mushrooms, yes that dosage seems right (and was right for me last season), but potency is increased when eaten fresh and for a first timer, tolerance will obviously be zero. 4 nice sizers and a smaller one got me to a nice level 3 last weekend, so I would say 3-6 nice sizers would be make for a good level 3.

I'd recommend 3-6 like I said. You could take more, it kind of depends on the patch and the person eating the mushrooms.
