That's why I always say, grain only subs for sclerotia, even when fruiting! Though, a coir-only bulk sub isn't so bad.
blackout, you saying 3wks from inoc/growth or from visible stones forming?
I've had some that I harvested quickly, and the result was far from stellar. By all accounts, they were half dud. Culture could (should in some way) effect that, though, as Aero's statement is an implication of

I have always found my galindoi to be really visual, and most of my friends agree. I usually leave em in the jar for a long time but even the ones I harvested from bulk coir subs packed a real punch. 10 grams fresh was plenty for most.

How do you find P. tampanesis to compare if you have tried them? Just as visual?
I've been curious as to what timeframe one reaches the point of diminishing returns with stones. For instance the payoff between 4 months and 8 months may not be worth the time waiting, jars in use, etc.
I could have sworn I read a thread where someone tried this with an isolate, but I can't for the life of me find it. I am sure it varies with different genetics, but still.

IMO you are better off with the fastest stone producer, regarding the fact that ull have them mature faster, my clone jars started producing stones after around 2 weeks just before full colonization, since I'm not sure wether what they send under the name Tampanensis is really that or just another Galindoi culture renamed for business purposes i don't really know, I'm trying to fruit them so we can have a look what we are dealing with
8month might sounds like an overkill, the sweet spot should be between 3-6month. a fast culture by that time has massive stones literally ready to break the jars but then again more testing needed...

I had not tried my tamps yet but my friends swore they were just as good as the galindoi. That could simply be luck of the drawtho. More studies will need to be done

I agree and disagree. If left in the jar for 3-6 months the sclerotia will be super duper potent, like nothing else beats. But if spawned or just casing the grain whether at full colonization or after 6 months you could get like 5x as much in just a few weeks, right after the first flush and only a teensy bit less potent with no loss in psychedellic quality other than youd have to take another bite to get the same effects. So in terms of efficiency, fuck jar stones. I always get mine out of the jar as soon as it is fully colonized. Those noobs and those who just cant have cultivation shit laying around for whatever reason might like to know that you dont need a fruiting chamber but just a flower pot to bury the colonized sub in some peat or what have you. They dont need fruiting condions to produce healthy sclerotia. If some grass seed is planted and youcan control temp swings, you might be suprised how suuper duper easy they fruit too.
i remember a thread this guy was watering the sclerotia what was spanned to some coir, every now and then just water it when he would see that the substrate got a bit dry

yea but u need something "edible" u don't want the stones sit in something shitty
