Etizolam for aborting a train wreck?
    #21678558 - 05/14/15 11:19 AM (8 years, 8 months ago)

Hey guys,

There is something I've been wondering. I have an ethanol solution of 5mg/ml Etizolam (A thienodiazepine) that has the same effects as traditional benzos. It binds freely to benzodiazepine receptors and provides (according to wikipedia) an anxiolytic and calming effect.

1mg is approximately equal to 10mg Diazepam.

My question:
If, in the event of a bad experience or panic while exploring, would a drop of etizolam under the tongue and/or swallowed provide the same "leveling out" as traditional benzos? Not looking for it to abort the experience, but in an emergency would this substance provide some smoothing of the edges?

Does anyone have experience with this situation? Any input?

Thanks in advance!

Yes. For all intensive purposes, etizolam is a benzo.

That is absolutely wonderful to know. I myself have never needed a panic-button, but I may be introducing a friend to the experience soon and I know that having a backup is never a bad thing.

I think that even the knowledge that a "chemical cushion" is there in case of a fall, will prevent the fall from happening. Sometimes just knowing that help is nearby will keep the mind from panicking.

I will post with results if this becomes applicable in case anyone here is wondering how well the etizolam performed for this purpose. Still would love more opinions or experiences!

As always, thanks guys!

Yep - its amazing how just knowing you CAN affect (control) a situation, should you need to, allows you to better deal with it.

I agree. Personaly I'd most likely never need to eject because I know that I CAN eject. It's one of those mind over matter situations. However, I know that not everyone is the same. This friend of mine tends to worry more about little things than big things. For instance: A little smudge of mud on his coffee table ruins his day, whilst something as serious as a broken vehicle, late bills, or family problems do not seem to overly affect him.

In my experiences with others, it seems to be this type that has the most difficulty handling the loss of ego and increased sensitivity to stimuli in the environment.

The brain is an amazing thing! I'm really hoping that this experience will help him to realize that there are more important things than superficial imperfections. If I can get him to see mud on a coffee table as merely a little of the earth that is responsible for us being here, and nothing worth losing it over, and see the big picture, I think he'll be alot happier :P

Alcohol and gabapentin also diminish the effects in my experience.

Dumb idea, some of the best parts of my trips I have had were just after riding out the "bad" trip.

Buy the ticket, take the ride.
