cubensis and other Psilocybe origins

I was wondering what the origin of the cubensis species is. Maybe someone has some insight as to where it comes from. As far as I know it's found all across the globe, did people move them around and if so who and when? I tried to do a little research on Google and on the search here, but didn't really get what I was looking for. Why are these mushrooms so cosmopolitan?

Most mushroom species are naturally occurring, but psilocybes have for the most part been spread by humans for several thousand years, intentionally maybe but also unintentionally as in raising cattle who produce a good sub straight for cubes.
Many mushroom species have exisited for longer than people though. We see the same species of boletes in Americas and Europe for instance. Very possible they were around back when continents were one... But either that or just the spores can just be spread so easily.
Just some thoughts

Oh okay i hadn't really thought of the unintentional spread by cattle. Thank you for the reply.

Also mushroom spores are very light and fly away easily. And some mushrooms shoot their spores out at incredible speeds, like little bullets. They also can withstand the radiation of the upper atmosphere, so when they eventually fall back to earth they can still start colonizing a new area.

Now that is pretty crazy. So there's a lot of fungus species that are virtually worldwide?

There's a species of fungi that is only found in to relatively small areas in the world. The Chorioactis geaster is found only in small areas of Texas and small areas of japan. It wasn't introduced to either of these places, and is not known to grow anywhere else in the world. Fungi are weird man.
Also theoretically, P. Cubensis could have already been native to the americas, as there were buffalo wild over a majority of the US. And much earlier than that, there were Wooly mammoths.
Oh and, aren't mushrooms just the coolest shit?!?!
