So i have a birch bonsai tree and i found this link for spore prints
http://www.botanicalspirit.com/amanita-muscaria-prints
So im wondering if i make a syringe and inoculate my birch bonsai i might have a really cool Shitakusa (companion plant fungus) also the amanitas and their host trees play nice togather right? Like the mushrooms help the tree and wont hurt it?

The Fungi will not likely bond with the plant unless it is actively growing new roots. A Bonsai needs to be repotted every 2-3 years. The root ball trimmed and soil replaced. And by soil 80% Baked Clay Akadama and 20% Chopped Bark. Some cat little is actually Akadama and cheaper then Akadama by name but your not going to know that with out research Akadama will last two years before it breaks down and gets soggy when watering.
If I where going to try to inoculate an established tree I would include some grain spawn in the repotting and give regular applications of LC while the plant reestablishes its roots.

The link says that strain seems to colonize Evergreens so your spruce is a better candidate. If your air layering a segment from your spruce to create a new bonsai you by definition will be creating new roots.
