Contaminated birthed cake?

So there are two birthed cakes which had the dunk and roll method applied to them. They are now in a fruiting chamber. The problem is (is this a problem?) that one of the cakes has completely consumed the vermiculite that it was rolled in just one day ago. The other cake still has all the vermiculite visible. Is this abnormal?
The rapidly growing one has been separated as a safety precaution, but does anyone know if this is a sign that it might be something other than mycelia growth? Also, there is no oder associated with the rapidly growing one. Also both are exactly the same white color.

Also, there is another cake that looks completely normal, they both were sharing the same terrarium. The other cake shows no signs of abnormal growth. THey were sharing the same terrarium, does that mean the good cake should be tossed and the terrarium sterilized? Or is it ok to proceed without scrapping everything?

Well, if the mycelium is healthy enough it should be able to fight off contams while in the FC. The weird lookin cake was not, obviously. I've had good luck with catching contams early and not spreading them to other cakes, but typically once one goes, the billions of spores in the space will start growing on your other cakes.
Colonization is like a game of Risk with the myc playing against contams, on the grain. If you start the game and the contams already occupy more countries, they always win. This is why good sterile tek is the best thing you can do for your grow and it starts with inoculation. This gives the myc an advantage to still "claiming" all the substrate even if contams decide to enter late-game.
