hey there, 4 days ago i birthed and dunked 2 of my cakes, then after a day of soaking rolled them in dry verm. how long should it take for me to see any growth? and also how many times a day should i be misting them while in the chamber on perlite? they are sitting in my warm room with indirect sunlight during the day anything i should change?

If you did everything right and waited for the myc to solidify nicely you should see pinning in less than a week or even as quickly as a couple days. I had better luck with cakes when they start growing pins inside the jar. It is not stressed enough to wait until the last minute to fruit your cakes- that extra week after full colonization does increase likelihood of success. Mist only once or twice a day to keep the cakes moist but never wet if that makes any sense. Another thing that is not stressed upon in most teks that I found to get fast fruits is to use a mister with a very fine spray - the smaller the atomized droplets the better to increase RH. The idea is to increase RH on the micro environment of the cakes & perlite layer without turning your SGFC into a wet box full of bacteria. Mist just until there is a noticeable sheen on the cakes & then close the top & let it do it's thing for awhile.

You didn't mention if you have the cakes on foil or the lids or something to keep them out of direct contact with the perlite... on my first grow I was smarter than all the folks who been growing longer than me (definitely not the case) and I kept changing things up with fans and humidifiers etc... and I didn't see fruits for almost 3 weeks (dumb move)... but with subsequent grows 7-10 days have been average... if your sgfc is built to specs then mist a few times a day fan also...then hurry up and wait...good luck you'll have some shrooms in no time.

Anywhere from 5-14 days for first pins if multispore genetics. Mist until glistening, fan for 30 seconds. Repeat everytime the cake doesn't look glistening.

^ I do exactly as above has mentioned, and get great results. Mist until glistening, fan for 15-30 seconds. I like 30. I have around 20 cakes in my SGFC, and mist around 3-7 times a day depending on how fast evaporation is taking place (hopefully fast)

Because it was more than likely a MS inoculation, so they end up colonizing at different rates of speed. It would probably make a big difference to wait the 2 weeks then birth them all together...it will have a higher chance that they are are at their prime for fruiting...just my opinion.

thanks everyone and i am finally getting fruits on 2 of them that i birthed first...going to wait 2 weeks until they are all good...would it hurt to wait until some of them are at 3 weeks full, so then all will be at least 2 weeks full?
