AZURE/CYAN mycelium

So I live in the PNW, and at the moment SWIM has a few tubs of colonized CYAN, and AZURE mycelium. I will be moving close by in the next month or two, and am a little confused on what to do with the Myc. Since I can't baby my patch until fall, should I just walk around town with the colonized chips and start putting them all over???

I agree with Appalachian Brony, when I was growing up in Fla, I would walk the cow fields and pick wild P. cubensis. When I'd get home, I would sort the shrooms out, (what I hadn't eaten out in the field) taking the most mature caps and placing them in rain water. (As a sidenote, please keep in mind that I was about 14,it was 1978, and bottled water, distilled water, R.O. water, or any of those concepts and options were either unavailable or unknown to me.) After soaking the caps, I would strain the solids out and put then into a squirt gun that had quite a large opening for the purpose of shooting high volume, long distant streams. It was perfect for walking through cow fields that were abundant in turds, but woefully deprived of my beloved majick mushrooms. And for a 14 year old kid it was great fun to shoot target with my squirt gun which were not alive and not only unharmed and un-offended by my onslaught of "bullets" from my "machine gun" fire, but blessed with spores which would hopefully form mycelium and ultimately, More Shrooms! I visited so many fields playing Johnny appleseed with my squirt gun and a backpack with two half gallon jugs with dark purple spore water for refills that there were many I never returned to......but I knew that someone would happen upon that field one day to find a treasure. And that, my friends, is the best gift one soultripper such as myself can give, unacknowledged, anonymous, priceless....

A LOT of the patches in the Seattle area come from like Minded people spreading the love. I know at least a handful of Azurescens patches still exist almost a decade after i seeded them

stevo,
Have you done this personally? I live in the perfect climate for cyan/azures and am interested in spawning outdoors, but don't want to make a big outdoor patch.

i would simply build yourself a patch or two and cover it in lots of foliage or straw/grass clippings and what not and soak the pile down, it will keep your spot moist for a very long time

It doesn't matter what i think of you...all that matters is clean spawn I'm tired do me a favor
