thinking about trying my hand at growing some ATL #7 and just had a question. I will be following this TEK: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/13431948
and was just wondering when im getting my jars(rye berries) ready does the synthetic filer disc replace the metal lid or go over / under it? also do you just inject the spores straight thru the filer?
Thanks guys!

you put the sfd inbetween the lid and band.
BAND
SFD
LID w/ hole
JAR RIM
and you cannot use sfd's to inject though. Either get an injection port or crack the lid to shoot the spores in.

if it is a spore syringe use only a couple drops (~.5cc) against the glass and don't shake it after

I did 1CC per jar. And I used a small drill bit. Can't remember off the top of my head.

I use a 1/4" hole in my lids. Quarter sized sfd siliconed over that.

is the hole with the SFD really just for GE? (sorry about all the questions) I was originally gonna do this with BFR, but everything I read said rye berries were best. Just trying to do this right as the stones are gonna be a gift to a friend of mine for Christmas.

The hole & filter it's for GE, yes.
Grain is better personally. I can't stand biting into verm.

For brf, you can steam it. With grains, you should probably pressure cook them.
I hear you can steam grain in a pot for eight hours and achieve success. I don't know if I'd do it for stones since they'll sit longer than a spawn jar would. That's just me.
