It doesn't matter the fixture just make sure your bulb is at least 6500k ...usually labeled as a "daylight" bulb. They are really cheap and you can just screw it into any old lamp...

I'd go cfl due to how readily available they are in 6500k. I've done full LED grows with no potency issues though

I just use Edison style CFL bulbs. They are fairly cheap and I can pick them up almost anywhere locally. I live in a desert so it's also nice that they put out almost no heat. I use the 19w (75 watt equivalent). I am looking into switching them for LED's one day but I read a lot of bad reviews where individual LED's go out long before they should on a 20-50 dollar bulb.

Ive had no problems with LEDs thus but I have only been using them for 6 months now. I'm not using the store bought LEDs I invested in grow lights which throw out light more geared for photosynthesis. I feel bad for growing 2 small tubs with such expensive lighting so I might swap to cfl...

I've just used a regular 60 watt bulb for 12 hrs. I don't think the lighting source is particularly important for cubensis.

The lighting for mushroom cultivation is cheap and available at any drug store. Florescent tube style or compact CFL in the 6500K range. Very cheap and very easily available.

I dont know what you would be doing with your lights that would cause it to create any danger, nor can I see why you would get your lights wet or why humidity would be a problem.
If you can use a lamp safely then it shouldnt be much of a problem for anyone

You just culture the mushroom in your house,in my country many companies grow fungi in a big house ,and use AC to keep them grow in a proper condition, so it will lead to many water vapor, sometimes may even result a fire that's why i introduce a waterproof performance growing light for you

I actually just did a term paper on photoreceptors in fungi. While important, there are only a handful of receptors that respond to a very narrow range of light.
Basically, they need some blue light. The photopigments in the "important" receptors are FAD or a derivative thereof, and have absorption maxima of about 450nm. Some fungi have minor red and/or green light receptors, but they are typically of minimal importance (Really, the green receptors have no function that has yet been found, and the red receptor is really only important in a few ascomycetes)
Your average CFL pumps out around 450 fairly well, so they work just fine. Just dont leave the light on 24/7 so the circadian rhythm can do its work. Easy enough!
