Is this common for PE?
    #21648865 - 05/07/15 11:46 AM (9 years, 13 days ago)

Penis Envy Tub
This is a new tub after 1 G2G transfer. Last tub (close to same time, in same space and under same conditions) flushed a bunch of mutant blobs at first, then a big "normal" second flush.

Current Tub - Can't get pins to mature. I mean the entire sub is covered in knots and little pins...but it's like growth is halted.  I'll have 3-5 little mushies develop at a time but that's it. A few minor aborts but I haven't noticed the pins darkening or anything.
The sub appears dry but the tub is still quite heavy suggesting its retaining moisture.
I've tried leaving them be for a few days, tried daily misting and fanning.....no apparent difference.
Any similar experience with this variant?

Everything seems healthy, no contams, no bruising, no discoloration at all. I know PE can take longer to develop than others, but all my other tubs have flushed 1-3 times while this thing has been sitting here. Just damn odd.

It doesn't matter if the tub is holding moisture. They need a humid climate. When I stuff the bottom holes I almost cry because how hard I have to stuff it in. Almost always people don't stuff the holes properly.

You need to make sure they have a 95-100% humidity environment. Could even turn off the fan.

Yeah I don't trust hygrometers. Never bought one and probably never will.

Repacked, been alternating spraying and not spraying.....still NO difference.
every week I'll have 2-3 mushrooms grow to early maturity at about an inch and start darkening.

I pin there is a massive amount of tiny pinsets and knotting, would it be pointless to try wax paper at this point?

Just cant seem to figure out whats causing it.

Honestly if it's that big of a problem try the wax paper, it wouldn't hurt. However it seems like it just can't grow mushrooms. Is this current g2g from the same genetics you got from the first tub that had good results? If it isn't a fruiting conditions problem, nor a substrate problem the last thing to blame is genetics. I'd suggest trying a new project at this time while waiting for this one. Sometimes you just need to get a fresh start. I've had bad genetics once too. From g2ging too lol
