How do you tell if a pressure cooker has been warped?
    #21666843 - 05/11/15 07:13 PM (9 years, 9 days ago)

Let's say you are in the market for a used pressure cooker, is there a visual sign that it has been run "dry" before and possibly warped?  I heard someone say that the bottom will curve as a sign it has been run dry.  Can anyone confirm this?

Now you could give it a test run to see if it holds pressure, but what I'm getting at is maybe it has warped slightly, allowing it to hold pressure with a new rubber seal, and as the seal shrinks slightly it no longer works, leading to frequent seal ring replacements.

If anyone has a pic of a warped unit, that would be good too.

Place it on the ground. My Presto 23qt warped and it rocks/spins. Still works fine though, I just need to replace the gasket.

If youre buying All American PC I doubt any of them will be warped, and they have metal to metal seal and will last a lifetime

If I were you I would just buy a new Presto 23qt for 70 buxor a used All American if you can find a good price.
