Southeast Michigan Mushroom ID request- really appreciate your help!
    #21663371 - 05/10/15 11:04 PM (9 years, 10 days ago)

So I spotted these growing on my old house's lawn. They look and smell astonishingly similar to the mushrooms I bought and consumed a few weeks ago!

Habitat: Lawn in front of house. Mildly moist environment

Gills: The gill color varies from a dark brown to practically black.

Stem: Whitish and fragile. About 1 cm wide, and seems to split into vertical strands.

Cap: creamy brown to dark brown.  1-2 inches across

Spore print color: A dark brown/purple color.

Bruising: I'm assuming this is a "bruise"

Location: North East Coast region of the USA. (Southeast Michigan)

Here are some extra pictures:

.
Right now my best guesses are Panaeolus cinctulus or possibly Psilocybe liniformans var. americana. Key word: guesses.

I would really appreciate some experienced input. Thanks!

THANKS

SORRY FOR THE OVERSIZED IMAGES! I HAD NO IDEA THAT WOULD HAPPEN!

If there is anyway I can shrink them please let me know. You can manually shrink them by zooming out(pinch in on a laptop or ctrl+scroll down using mouse)

They're some kind of coprinoid, probably Coprinellus micaceus. Definitely not a Panaeolus or a Psilocybe species.
