The Value of Joy

I have thought about posting this thread for a little while now. One could post dozens or even thousands of beautiful quotes, a few of those who spoke on it deeply for me were Stevenson, Whitman, and a lot of others. India's spirituality contains the message of cheerfulness; one yogi said, you know you are first becoming religious, when you start to become cheerful.
'Do anything, but let it produce joy,' by Whitman, was always beautiful to me, then again he also gave such beauties as
'Peace is always beautiful,' etc.
And Stevenson and Hanh of course, both shared that happiness is so valuable. S. said simply, 'one sows anonymous benefits on the world,' and Hanh goes deeply into the nature of joy, the nature of love, and how they affect life. Many others too, naturally.
Begin.
:-)
Of course there is the natural and simple one that it is very healthy, very strengthening to the immune system, and the rest of health. What are some of your thoughts about it, besides merely this, also, just any interesting things you have to say

joy is great
reminds me of a quote - 'the joy of service is the reward for service'
which could be arranged to say - 'the experience of Joy is the value of Joy'

Great, and vast, and boundless, when we reach that place <3
One of my favorite Stevenson quotes is 'There is no duty we so much underrate as the duty of being happy. By being happy we sow anonymous benefits upon the world.'
I really like your emphasis on service.. selfless service to others can bring an amazing joy.. I like one thing, how First People have this as a basis of their society. Ours is not broken, of course, and I see this in ours as well.. hopefully we learn to serve nature is best I feel anyway. I came across this, I thought you might like it.. I didn't read the whole thing but skimmed it a bit.
