If your syringe is too contaminated to germinate on agar try using it on a grain jar. The spores should germinate. Then you can put a colonised grain on agar to clean it up. Check out the salvaging contaminated PE syringe thread in my journal.
 PE /KSSS second flush.

So that's what happens when you leave your contam'd tub in your hot and dark garage for a few days and let the trich have it's way.

What's that green in there growing tall and leaf like?

A few days after spawning the tub I noticed the little plant springing to life. I assume it was a grain of some sort that survived the pasteurization.
Eco Earth coir has worked pretty well for me but it is also full of all kinds of bullshit. Rocks, sticks, grains, plastic pieces, etc.

Yeah man.. hoping this continues FOREVER (knock on wood)
But in all seriousness, I gotta buy a dehydrator, man. Blowing on these things keeps me lightheaded all day.

I had a thread going a while back on eco earth. People had found all manner of stuff. The best was someone found crime scene tape.
