Hmm...I am not familiar with that type of speces so definaltey wait for the pros but white gilled-white sporeprint species are usually toxic or non active. Thats all I know.

Could you cut one in half vertically and show us the inside? The gills will be important for identifying these.

Although I don't think Flammulina velutipes is the correct species, I do think that a white spore print points them at Collybia (Flammulina was split from Collybia).

Happy mushrooming!

Yes, the fact that the caps are very sticky is very important.

I didn't ask earlier - did you actually make a spore print, or did you guess spore print color from gill color? If you haven't yet, make a spore print on white paper. There are some fairly subtle colors that you'll only notice if you do one that way. If the spore print is pure white, holding the paper at an angle between you and the light will make the spore print visible. If you're worried about finding the spore print on the paper, draw a circle around the cap when you put it on the paper.

Also, do they have any particular odor?

Happy mushrooming!

if the print where such a pale yellow that you could not see it against a black background you would not likely notice it against a white one.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Doing a spore print on white paper will help bring out subtle shades of color. I've seen spore prints that on black paper looked white and on white paper looked pink.

It's a worthwhile experiment to make some spore prints on both black and white paper so you can see the differences. For that matter, it's also interesting to try things like plastic, glass, and aluminum foil, or anything else that seems likely.

Happy mushrooming!

Not sure what you have but any shroom with orange looking gills or with a white print should be avoided. I doubt theat any are psychoactive. Especially if they all three leave a white print.

They appear to key out close to Collybia acervata, although they are not that species. Without microscopic examination and some better keys I don't think we'll be able to do much better than that.

Happy mushrooming!
