Alright, I went hunting in a cow feild this morn. there were alot of wood shavings a manure everywhere.I was hoping to find some pan subs.I did find alot of theses growing plentiful. They do not look like subs I have seen in oklahoma.I'm kinda wondering if they are psathyrella sp.The photos aren't real good, sorry.Phone sucks.I did the best I could with it. okay, the color of me most were a little yellowish, caps were arpund 2 to 3 inch in mature ones.Stems about 1/4 inch wide and around 5" tall.I noticed they were very brittle and hollow, haven't really noticed any bruising. They appearead really silky looking in spots and were mostly white. The gills are tightly packed and had kind of a brownish purple color. In the process of collecring spore prints. Can anyone please help me.I'm just wanting to make sure noone is harmed and will not consume nor let anyone else until ppl here give the okay. Also for some reason I can't get my pics to expand for anyone.Still hope someone can help.

The colours a bit off in the photo but i would go with Psathyrella candolleana
-------------------- I give you the choice of 2 pills.
With each containing one of the following: Cyanide... Psilocin... Would you take the risk? Didn't think so. This is why Positive Identification prior to consumption is important.

You're welcome, they are pretty common in those habitats. Keep looking and you'll come across what you seek, if you're in KY you may even have a (slim) chance of finding Psilocybe cubensis on cattle/horse dung. Welcome to the Shroomery btw!

Perhaps it could be in that species group, but he would most probably need micro to attach a species name.

Psilocybe Cubenis doesn't grow here,it's way to cold, even closer to the Tennessee border where I live. Their range only extends to mid Tennessee, and that's pushing it.

Thanks for the welcome.I learned about pan subs when I was young and can usually tell right away. Here in kentucky I have ran across a vast number of diferrent genuses and species. It's quite fun to find different types even if it's the main objective.I wished I had found mycology so interesting as a kid.
