spreading the love
    #21656097 - 05/09/15 06:03 AM (9 years, 11 days ago)

im new to hunting, and have found some rather aged specimens of p.subaeruginosa that dont look like they would be particularly good to eat, all dark and dry with big chunks missing from the cap and half rotten stems.

i was wondering if it was perhaps worth cutting off these caps and 'staking' them above a likely habitat, so the cap can rain spores down onto an ideal location for future growth.

or is that just a waste of time?

Aren't they already in a good location? I would just keep checking that spot.

there was younger tastier ones too

i just figured the older ones would have sporigated the area under them quite nicely already

and could lend a helping hand to get more spores into good places for future growth

where i live, there is so many places subs could grow, but i only find them in certain spots

its probably just physical factors resulting in no subs, i.e. no spores have landed there over time. this is something that i can assist with...

Probably. Couldn't hurt to try.
