Fuzzy White Growth(cobweb?)
    #2165494 - 12/07/03 12:49 AM (14 years, 5 months ago)

after my casings had finished colonizing and showing myelium growth, i took them out to put them in the fruiting chamber, and i noticed soft greyish looking fuzzy white growth, i think its cobweb, is this caused by low air exchange, and or improper humidity? any advice?

did you happen to smell it? it smells like dirty socks kinda. Cobweb loves stagnet air and high humidity, so you could increase air exchange... i would wait and see how fast it grows before start misting w/ h2o2, if it grows real fast you know it's cobweb, it's probably myc though.

When the humidity is really high and you are not getting enough air exchance, the myc seems to grow straight into the air like that. Also, the initial high-speed and thin growth of myc in jars will look like that too...

Cobweb usually looks furry instead of thready, if that makes any sense. You're probably fine, start fanning and giving it light I bet you're close to pins
