Anyone notice the mosquitoes are EFFING bad in old river beds - where my current source is located? I couldn't actually swat them fast enough to stop the bites. I was swarmed. Must remember to bring Aeroguard this Sat.

Never, ever live up north in the bush in wet season. They consume the living.

Anyone in the South West had any luck yet? I Probably started a little too early and found nothing about 3 weeks ago, hoping the recent weather may have helped them along?

I have the ones from 2 days ago dry in the Tupperware and the ones from today drying in front of the gas heater on the ironing board.

Holy shit Dude!!! Nice F%$king work man that is a mighty haul. Spraying spores is a awesome idea dude. Last year I took the freshest/youngest subs I found and spore printed them onto foil. I made a couple of spray bottles up an let loose on my local park.
Unfortunately the council sprayed round up everywhere this year so it's completely f@#ked for at least this season. I'd love to give it a go somewhere less "cared for" by the council once i find some more fresh subs

So if come to conclusion that although it's extremly hard to become overly addicted to eating shrooms due to yor body building a tolerance so quick, it can be ridiculously easy to get addicted to picking! Or even just taking photos! Strongly suggest any new picker get a camera even just like a lumix $200 banger. Can get so much enjoyment out of takin photos of the little Guys in there habitat, even if you habe nearly zero care for photography. Will post photos tonight from last nights trek.

Nothing wrong with those man. They might have got a bit bruised on top from some heavy rain by the looks. Not sure exactly what conditions cause that sheen, but I do love it. Makes them look all precious and shit.

Pretty sure that's just redgum mulch dude.

I don't think that's redgum. It look's more like paint. You can see the inside of the wood isn't even red.

Hey guys,
Excuse my noobyness but it's my first year shroomin' and I don't know any body experienced. I've gone out 4 times in the Yarra Ranges but only found Gallerianas (which aren't fun at all). Has anybody else found success in the Yarra Ranges?

I had no idea until right now that there was such a thing as coloured mulch.
I stand very much corrected

G'day Guys,
Long time walker, first time poster - so please forgive me if I should be posting this elsewhere and feel free to redirect where possible.
I went for a stroll this evening ahead of some interstate friends hitting town this weekend and found myself a small amount of subs.
I'm not overly experienced in fungi, except for what was passed down to me at a young age.
My query is, how big in the right conditions could one expect to find a subaeruginosa in the wild, even if considered a freak of nature?
Is 100g totally out of the question? https://files.shroomery.org/files/15-19/110857736-IMAG0510.jpg
[Picked approximately 6 hours ago, its not as blue as the small ones - but it has gone a shade of purple-ish?]
Or should I be throwing out and washing my hands?
Picture included to show the respective "normal" subs. https://files.shroomery.org/files/15-19/110858243-IMAG0513.jpg
