Dick-head Cheney's elitist style...
    #2165457 - 12/07/03 12:27 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Gee, all y'all Americans gotta do is vote in 'ol Bushy once more...then Dick-head will run for prez...(I'm sure that makes most of you shudder)

As he travels, Cheney does not hold news conferences. His meetings with business and community leaders are private. He rarely makes time to meet voters outside the fundraisers

Cheney's already in charge. Bush is just there to put a happy little smirk on everything, cuz no one would fall for it if it was just Cheney destroying the Constitution and starting unjust wars.

"The President in particular is very much a figurehead - he weilds no real power whatsoever. He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it." - Douglas Adams

I find your comment rather funny silver. For if chenney was looking for a puppet who could have atleast gotten one that can gives speaches and doesnt looke doofy on camera. And anyways, i think just wars are kinda an oxymoron. Any war that goes on at any time is going to simply be pro each sides personal interests. This war athat America has taken part in has definitly been pro american as i hope most wars we go into are. Many would say that what we are engaged in at the moment is happeneing for two reasons... other than the stated of heading off future attacks on the country. Those two reasons are revenge for 9/11 and profit from oil and stuff... this later i dont really think works but ill get to that in a moment. So then... for revenge.. i would like to justify this by saying that almost everything done as far as attacks against america at this point is done for that reason... terrorist groups can say that they are doing it to force us to change our policies, but seeing as we havent yet we are not likely to and therefore revenge is the only reason for attacks assuming someone that knows any US history at all is performing them. The whole to make money with oil and such deal just doesnt check out with me cause war is so rediculously expensive. If we were taking over the country and keeping it for ourselves i would say yes.. except that iraq would not be the country to attack for that. There are many other oil rich countries that we could have attacked and gotten alot more outta. And we would never be able to maintain control of a country if we tried the whole colonialization thing with them.. that became impossible some time ago... just ask england. Anyways though.... I think that if we look at the bigger picture the US is the most positive force on the planet as far as pro humanity in general goes. And ... i need some mo beas... actually ... i think im just gonna have to go back to the pawty... this time out has been way to long. PRO USA ALL THE WAY!!!
PS. Im national gaurd. I did security at the temporary morg at the 9/11 site for the first three weeks. I might have a slighty biased view.

revenge.. i would like to justify this by saying that
almost everything done as far as attacks against
america at this point is done for that reason... terrorist
groups can say that they are doing it to force us to
change our policies, but seeing as we havent yet we
are not likely to and therefore revenge is the only
reason for attacks assuming someone that knows any
US history at all is performing them.

just because the united states has yet to implement
a dramatic policy shift as a result of terrorist attacks,
(I should say dramatic policy shift in the right direction)
doesn't mean that we are attacked only out of petty
revenge.

if these people are indeed the terrorists that our leaders
has labeled them, then, by their very definition, their
actions continue to be political in nature.

I say I'm a political activist, you say I'm a dumb hippy
just because you think my cause is impossible?

the past, present or future likelihood of the outcome a
person seeks doesn't immediately compromise their
intentions.

The whole to make money with oil and such deal just
doesnt check out with me cause war is so rediculously
expensive

yes, war is ridiculously expensive, for the taxpayer, but
can be ridiculously profitable for those contractors that
work for the federal government. much of the outrage
surrounding the war stems from people fed up that the
government treasury is being raided and handed over
to Bush family cohorts.

I'd also like to commend you for your unfounded faith
in our government's fiscal responsibility...if only feduciary
prudence were a virtue of government.

If we were taking over the country and keeping
it for ourselves i would say yes.. except that iraq
would not be the country to attack for that. There
are many other oil rich countries that we could have
attacked and gotten alot more outta

as for other oil rich nations that we could have invaded
that would have been easier and more profitable...I
welcome any input from you on that one.

Iraq has the third largest proven oil reserves in the world,
only behind Canada and Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, by
taking out Afghanistan and Iraq, we have both stabilized
the region and assumed control of real estate critical to
controlling additional oil fields in the northern *stans.

And we would never be able to maintain control of a
country if we tried the whole colonialization thing with
them.. that became impossible some time ago... just ask
england

we don't need to colonize them, american business will wind
up owning a large piece of the new and improved iraq. colonial
imperialism doesn't really exist like it did for england and the
rest of europe...in this day it is a cultural and economic colonialism
that will propagate much more efficiently and thorougly ushered
in under the flag of progress and freedom.
