Hey Guys, i dont know much about Diviners Sage. Ive always been a little curious but the sheer rarity of the plant has made opportunities to speak about it scarce. I live way south in zone 9a. Almost coastal, its pretty damn hot. The Mints i grow seem to dig it here, and i grow flowering salvias Red and Coral salvias.
Would Diviners Sage do well in this area? Ive heard its by cutting only, im not sure if it grows wild here. Ive noticed theres a healthy European community and trade.. but it seems a little sparse here in the US
Whats you experience with trying to root it, what you did when you found it, what your successes were. Your failures. If its so hard to propagate, how do you cultivate it?
Thanks guys, Bart

I received a couple of Bunnell aka W&H cuttings a little while a go. Getting a couple of Blosser cuttings next month as well. I love growing this plant.
I'd like to get a bit of a collection going with the different strains. The next ones I am hoping to get are Luna and Paradox, yet anything other than W&H and Blosser seem super rare!
Fingers crossed!

Hello salvia growers! Question for some of the more experienced growers. I’ve got a few Salvia Divinorum plants that I’m wanting to set up with an automatic watering system. The system in question uses capacitive soil humidity sensors to determine when to water the plants. I have the plants planted in equal parts mixture of organic garden soil, perlite, peat moss, and course sand to create an aerated free draining loamy soil. The plants are newly rooted cuttings and seem to finally be greening up now that they are in my possession (I purchased them at a local specialty plant nursery). Anyways, the capacitive soil sensors determine when to water the plants based upon the soil moisture content in percentage rating I.E 30%, 50%, Etc. I’m trying to figure out what to set my parameters at to tell the computer when to water the plant. Should I have the water turn on once soil moisture content falls below 30%? 25%? Etc.

So, I recently acquired two Salvia Divinorum plants that were at a local plant nursery here on the east coast. They are both rooting cuttings, both are fairly “leggy” with smaller yellow foliage. Luckily since picking them up, I’ve reduced the amount of sun exposure they were receiving and they are starting to green up, I’ve also re-potted both plants into larger containers with new soil “Kellogg’s organing potting and raised garden bed soil. The soil seems to be quick draining and has lots of organic matter to help keep the roots aerated and hopefully free of potential root rot. While the plant is greening up, growth is really slow, the foliage is small, and I’m not entirely sure what I need to do to bring these plants back to life. I know allot of people have a tendency to over water, I just haven’t figured out when or how often to water to keep this particular delicate plant happy. The plants get misted for 30 seconds every four hours and I haven’t watered them in 3 days. Any ideas on how I should go about bringing these plants back to full health?

Repotted my Sally a couple of weeks ago, was a little leggy while I waited for the new light. Taken six cuttings, five rooted already one struggling. Had the mother plant since 2016, and here she is, looking like her usual healthy self again

Good day.
I want to grow a salvia plant indoors in a (north) window with the help of a grow light. I found the Luna strain and that's the one I want. Any tips for growing a salvia plant? How often would I feed diluted 20-20-20 fertilizer? Is it ever too soon to fertilize?
When I move to Oregon after 3 years, I think I want to move it into a greenhouse. Any experience with that?
Thanks.
