Um I think I found a long spine peruvian torch catus. Im not 100% sure because Im kinda new to I.D'ing cacti.
I found it at the corner store when I was buying smokes. There was a plant display right by the front counter and I thought "wouldnt it be funny if they had some Trichocereus cacti for sale" and it turns out they did, well at least I think its one.
Here is a couple pics, If you guys have any detailed questions you need to ask to help with the I.D just ask thanks for your help

i've grown a good number of peruvian torches, but i've never seen any that short and fat. they are usually taller and slender. under the right growing conditions, i guess they could grow to be short and fat. the spines on all of mine have a very noticable red tint running from the base to about 1/4 of the way up the spine.
it's a nice cactus.

thats true, they dont look like your typical torches. But I have seen a few of them that were squat like that, I could only find this one crappy image of short and fat torches (they are in the background) maybe my cactus is a different type of Trichocereus? or it could just be a nice regular cactus myabe i should just eat it and find out jk

hah. once, i had that same thought many years ago. then, i thought "even if it's not a trich, it will still be a good healthy meal." i couldn't have been more wrong. it tasted like shit and i woke up in the middle of the night to release some bright green squirts that looked like half-cooked okra. i'll never eat another unidentified cactus again.

yeah I know that now I would say nuero is right and that it's a Stetsonia Coryne, or the tooth pick cactus. I was wrong about it being a preruvian torch and it's not even in the Trichocereus family, but it does contain mescalin according to erowid and this chart I found. It is one of the weaker types though. botanischer Name Mescalin andere Alkaloide -------------------------------------------------------------------- Lophophora williamsii ca.1% getrocknet Ann,And,Ant,Annd,H,L,P,T Trichocereus peruvianus 0.8% getrocknet T pachanoi 0.1% getrocknet Annd,H,T bridgesii 0.1% frisch T validus 0.1% frisch macrogonus <0.05% frisch T terscheck. <0.05% frisch Ann werdermann. <0.05% frisch T taquimbal. <0.05% frisch H cuzcoensis <0.01% frisch T Stetsonia coryne <0.01% frisch T
