First grow, ATL7 Galindoi, first flush
    #21643966 - 05/06/15 02:35 PM (5 years, 9 months ago)

My friend just did his first gr ever with Galindoi, took a little bit of trial and error but finally got it to work., first

started with agar,
took the colonized agar and put into a sterile jar of water quickly, in a cupboard, now being that it was not a sab it could contam since i did open the lid to put the agar disk in quickly, but i shut it,
shook the crap out of it,
sucked up a bunch of LI syringes.
got a bunch of grain jars colonized,
spawned to a coir/verm sub at about 3 inch,
waited for it to colonize,
added a non pasteurized and dry casing layer of premium manure compost at about a quarter inch,  ( you can tell because i have little plants growing in there as well),
misted it till it was nice and moist.
..waited till i saw a bit of myc poking through
and put it to fruiting next to an open window where the sun is shinin.

got 4 holes around the montub about middle each around half inch stuffed with polyfill. it is true, the montub does provide its own heat and moisture when the right amount of air flow, temperature and light is reached..if the walls seem a bit dry though, just mist and use the top to cover the pins from getting droplets on them. Now i believe mushrooms are very easy to grow, and you do not need alot.. but if you follow the basics, sterility, and patients you will do alright. I will also suggest following a successful tek you find on here to the end, this way any fellow amateur mycologist out there will have a better chance of success.

Poo is Great too. Once you use it, you can tell mushrooms love shit too! Full of good nutritious stuff.

Cheers

I Wanted to ask..?

1) is there anything i might be able to do to increase the pinset, as well as the fruiting size, not sure if adjusting the montub during fruiting made it have stingey fruits or is this how they look..

2)What is a good way about getting a good second flush, can i dunk half but keep the same manure casing layer, just mist?

3) whats the best fresh dose?
Heard these were around 2x in potency.. Violet speaks of 7.3 grams fresh being equal to about 2 grams dried in cubensis.. want to at least have a level 4

any other tips are kindly welcome

I have found with this species the myc is almost cobweb like, just to warn that it isnt a contam. it also colonized the substrate quite quickly.

Hopefully my LI's stay clean and last me a long time..

The msrms are nearing the top of the containter now but a couple are starting to turn blue from middle to top...should i just open the container and let them breath to grow now or do the little guys still need the humid conditions of the monotub with the top on?

Open air LI, manure casing that wasn't even pasteurized. Wow your one lucky guy. Don't be surprised if that sub explodes with trich verry soon.

Yep. Any time now. Almost nothing was done right here . Manure isn't a casing material, everything needs pasteurized, all your inoculant needs to be made in a clean environment like a SAB or flowhood. This is the luckiest grow ever.

Your right. No one really dose. I do know enough to get consistently good results from my grows with minimal contaminations though.

Very cool looking mushrooms.  Is that what this type normally look like or are the stems long because of high CO2?  Probably the former but it was a question that I asked myself so........

Nope, but I know more than most. Enough to get a flush of any species I want. Enough to be tagged as  a TC by people who know more than me. That's good enough for me. If you wanna be a dick, include some real info

Yes Jenn, most of the sclerotia forming mushrooms have these attributes i.e. long thin stem small cap, also from what I have read they can be tricky to fruit.

Right, my intentions did not equal the impact I was after. My point being, is that included in this thread is evidence that such procedures as shared by the OP are possible and is worth looking at. Now, I understand that such methods are in conflict with the norm and with probably the way you do things with consistent results.

I suggest that we turn our potentially destructive conflict into a constructive conflict. I believe that open air LI is a possible way to cut down the work in growing bulk. I do understand that the learning curve may take a while but the rewards seem worth the struggle to me. Also, I believe that you and me are using many of the same practices to grow bulk i.e. using agar, pressure cooking, controlling temperatures, etc.

Hey , i posted this to show my fr amateur first grow, i'm most definitely not on par with the pros here, but he's still learning, fr has a SAB just did not at the time... Anyways, fr is doing better with his technique now and getting some pretty good results following the teks posted here, which by no means was i bashing any of the help given here when i posted this.. and its not that he doesn't have others on the go all perfectly pasteurised, this is just the one that made it on the first go. I appologize, but i do like an experiment.
And thanks to all who have dedicated hard work to this to make it clearer for us noobs.
Pretty sweet too with Galindoi, because fr looked through the sub and had just over 12g of sclerotia hidden within it.
