Bizarre growth, FAE issues?

So I am doing a few monos and this one is fruiting very strange, tons of mutations, theyre growing sideways, downwards and in shapes unlike mushrooms. They are growing more on one side than the other, but the other side is picking up. I had another tub fruit just a few days ago completely normally, the only difference between the two are that this one gets a less FAE, I switched the tubs to see if the added FAE gives any improvement. Any wisdom on this, I love mutated mushrooms as much as the next guy, but this tub looks like it will have a shitty yield.
Also, fun fact, there is a mushroom that looks like a dick and balls in the picture, its on the left side roughly in the middle.

If you want them to grow upwards only you need to have your light shine from the top only

Yeah I know, its strange though that these are behaving this way yet the other tub did not. Furthermore they aren't growing towards where the excess light would be coming from, they are growing on the opposite side.
On the subject of light though I think I may paint or tape the outside, leaving a small window on the front to help control stray light.

Don't tape it, use a liner. Light doesn't cause side pinning...
Could be genetics, or FAE like you said...which could be because of your unorthodox hole setup.

What's up with the holes, thats how I have always done tubs, and they have never been a problem, not as far as I know at least. each long side of the tub as a total of eight holes while the short sides each have a total of 4.

I say unorthodox meaning they aren't the norm...not that they aren't working for you.

Since when? They're not the beans we planted in kindergarden... A light source from the side works just fine. Its most likely genetics...
Was it a multispore grow? Also you could try casing the substrate.

They are all cloned from a single agar wedge.
Yeah I know but I had no time to do a casing layer, I still have some jars that I might make more tubs from and case though.

yea it looks like they're all huddled around that little spot where there's 4 holes. reminds me of a bunch of jews stuffed into a train on their way to auschwitz trying to gasp at the crack in the window for air. (i saw it in a movie recently, can't remember which one).

There are holes like that all around the tub so I am not sure why they would prefer those holes.
I switched its position with a tub that had already fruited so that it would get better FAE, we will see what happens.
