Wanna look at these tubs?

Hey folks,
Just wanted a second opinion on these tubs. The growth looks super thick and white like fluffy clouds. It makes it hard to tell if its *too* white hope its npt full of trich
Im just not used to growth like this. Its pasturized straw mixed with bucket tek verm, kinda high spawn ratio maybe 7 quarts or more Used a top layer.
Usually my growth looks kinda aerial ropey almost going up through top layer.
So Im really just looking for insights or experiences with this style growth:sbrug:
Thanks!

It's mycelium and looks really healthy! I see nothing wrong with your tub. How long has it been colonizing?

Maybe a week or so. I have 13 other tubs with pretty much the same style growth and then these two. I didnt think I did anything different on them so it just sparked my curiosity!

I'd say in a few days to a week it'll be fully colonized. Looking good for a week. If it was 3 weeks I'd be worrying lol

i am curious about that why the surface has empty areas. try to make myself clear, there are some thick myc parts on the surface and i guess you mixed your substrate well so why there are still that much big empty areas?

Probably a low spawn ratio mixed with bad mixing of the corners. It took me well over 30 tubs and 50 trays to get a way to be able to mix it perfectly and I still notice the outside corners take the longest to colonize. Like I said if it was 3 weeks in looking like that we should worry but 1 week is basically 2 days of recovery and 5 days of colonization.

Because they arent finished colonizing yet
These two tubs have a high spawn rate. I mix well, in a bucket before I pour into my tubs and level.
But I just eyeball the leveling and I use a top layer that is also eyeballed. So thatd be my guess.

I hope it turns out well for you. I'd be somewhat worried if you are not used to seeing that kind of mycelium though. If you'd like to take a look and compare you can look at my thread here (using CVG though): http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20935086
where I've had mycelium looking similar to yours and after it colonized and fruited my tub it all turned green. Luckily though I've got the rhizomorphic style and a pinning tub.

Sounds like you got trich dude. Trich hides in spawn and hides very wwll in substrate, usually shows up when you put your substrate into fruiting conditions. When it does it will show up as very white patches, usually a whiter shade than your mycelium. It will turn green shortly after, that is it sporulating and shooting spores all over your house haha.
It does have a crystaline, almost hexagonal look though, so if you see any white patches like that at all next time isolate the tub because it will probably turn greem soon and that is no bueno indoors
