Red light during Fruiting
    #2162792 - 12/05/03 10:14 PM (14 years, 9 days ago)

I have a five watt red fish tank light that I am thinking about running in my fruiting chamber to keep the temp a few degrees warmer. Does anyone see any potential issues with doing this?

they like blue best, and red is opposite end of the light spectrum right? any light at all will probably still work but not as well as a white or blue. imho

It's getting some white light to establish the fruiting. I just needed the red light for extra heat and wanted to know if that might harm the cake.

as long as it doesnt get too hot, i cant see it being a problem, except your temps will dip when you turn the light off at the dark end of a light cycle.

most pins are initiated upon exposure to blue and ultra-violet light with distinct peaks at 370, 440 and 460 nanometers.
but black lights lights cause mutation, so i would stick with blue light.
