AI - Building the Brain
    #21619079 - 04/30/15 07:52 PM (8 years, 8 months ago)

I have been brewing this idea for about 2 days now.  I am going to try to describe it.

First off, I would like to say that people working on building a brain are wasting their time.  I firmly believe that we are sharing a source of consciousness and the brain is a antenna.  If we wanted to build a functional machine, I don't see why I have not heard this idea any other place.

Life and thought is just a complex process of yes or no question's that we have checked off.  We learn through interaction.  The more times a yes becomes a completed process, the more time's it is selected until it does not work anymore.  This is the basis for evolution...  Just a vast, incredibly complex system of trillions of yes or no questions that involve interacting with the world.

Now, let's take a step back and see how our brain's actually work.  Every thought we choose comes from a pre-selected choice of thoughts, the illusion of free will.  Something is preprocessing information and we are only becoming aware of it..  In other words, something is running a simulation for every choice we make, not thought we have.

If we wanted to build a complex being, we would first have to build the most complex video game ever, then somehow allow it to run entire simulations based off the conclusions of other simulations..

This is exactly how we think.. We are able to have a thought, then run a simulation.. Become aware of problems and highlight issues and come to a conclusion.  This is no different than us entering an equation or having it predict weather.  It is such a simple idea, but yet complex.  It would take the entire world working together to make up interactions.  Then I guess at some point we can have it run it's own simulations to develop it's own interactions.

I think this whole idea of, we turn on a robot and it knows everything is far away and maybe an outlandish idea.  Maybe once we have the first created self teaching consciousness, maybe it can attend to that problem.  The idea of us creating the very first AI that is super powerful is just insane though.

I was also thinking of ways of setting up this AI in a optimized environment so it would not take decades for it to learn how to interact with the world we do.  I do plan to expand on this idea, I don't know if I will write it down though.
