Hitchhiking to Oregon/Washington to get a job in the marijuana industry?

Well I've been planning a hitchhiking trip for a while now and suddenly I haf the realization, the epiphany, if you will, that I should travel to either Washington or Oregon and apply to as many places as I can for low teir jobs like trimmers or cashier or something. Camp out in the woods for a while until i save up enough cash for a place.
Discuss.

I been thinking of going to this place bridge of the gods and camping next to this giant volcano called mount hood. I wanna fish the norther pike minnow sport reward program. They pay up to $8 a fish. Season starts 2moro. Im like an expert river fisherman and I know I can catch like a billion. I wanna jus fish all day make money/send back packages to friends back home. Then in the fall Ill fish the salmon run and chill for harvest season. The top guy made $80k last year on pikeminnow. The top 20 averaged $40k. I'd lit finance a boat and jus smoke rigs and fish for pikeminnow all day and night.

Sounds interesting.
It gets really cold in the winter/fall/spring at night, so be prepared.
Washington currently has retail stores, but Oregon is behind cause the law officially goes into effect July 1St This year. it will take a couple years to get the retail stores in Oregon going.
washington rains a lot, as does oregon (maybe not as much). Be prepared to gedt soaked.
But summer here in the PNW is excellent.
And i cant wait for EDM festival season with chronic smoke drifting thru the air.
Ahhhhh....

I was thinking you were talking about baby northern pike, then I saw this post. Why would they pay you to catch those fish? Are they used for food?

cuz they eat all the salmon babies and thier population has like exploded cuz of these hydroelectric dams so the dam company pays you to catch all the damn fish so a ton more salmon n steelhead can make it to sea and hopefully come back to spawn naturally.
You can read about it on the website http://www.pikeminnow.org/

In denver to work at a dispensary you need a certification called a MED (marijuana enforcement division) badge. Every single job related to weed requires it no exceptions. Its $150 and has stipulations like you cannot have a felony within the last 10 years, you have to be a resident of the state and 21 years old.

I think it sounds like a fantastic idea, yolo. Sometimes I see trains go by and just want to hitch a ride and see where I get to but then I realize I have nothing to bring with me at the time so I dont.

I dunno how it works out in Washington, but in Colorado you gotta be a resident of the state and be licensed to get in the industry regardless of whether it's for a medical shop or recreational shop.

Man, that would be AWESOME.
OP
Can you read a map? Have a cell with a signal booster? Know people on the way? If you lack funds, apply for an EBT/ foodstamp card. Many city/states have "return home" programs where a "homeless" person gets a free bus ticket "home" if they can prove there is someone willing to put them up at the destination...
Also a warning: Not all growers are nice folk. In fact, many are gangsta and people get roughed up for camping or trespassing on their plot. It isn;t always clear whose territory is whose. People get shot/killed/get gone. No joke. Also, some will employ, make promises and then not deliver after the work is done.
To get in that industry, it's best to know someone. It's true you only live once, but a bit of preparation can make this experience an excellent one while lack of preparation can have horrible outcomes.

I have a friend who left Arizona to go to Oregon about 2 years ago when the industry was starting to come out legally. I get snap chats from him every day with hundreds of bushels that he trims. I see those huge greenhouses and thousands of seeds he is planting etc. The dude handles pounds upon pounds all day, and when hes dry, taking an ounce home isn't a big deal at all. After 2 years of doing it, hes basically being mentored to manage another grow site. He played his cards right.
Its the dream life man, but if ya wanted to hop into the industry you had to move fast. The players are already in the game so hurry and get out there and do as much as you can.

I'm about to do something like this. Heading out to Denver, with no place to stay. I'd like to get a job around weed eventually, but when I get there I don't really care if I'm cooking fast food or sorting trash at a recycling center.
There's no work here, and I'm allergic to the tree's here and it makes me want to .
