I have been seeing a lot of that grass wondering the same thing.
The main kinds I am familiar with either have a shortish spiky seed head, or a longer round one.
There are so many phalaris varieties though and I only know 2 or 3 vary well.

Google arundinacea and see if that looks right.

Look around the nexus, I am on my phone or I would find a link or two.

The one on the far right I am almost positive is not phalaris, the first two are the same as your OP.
Read up on the different types of phalaris.
I recommend starting with brachystachys, aqautica, and arundinacea. Those tend to be the most common.
I generally ID by seed formation, that is the easiest sign I have noticed. Some types also have distinct grass.
I could probably tell some brachy from the other too by the grass blades for example. Brachy tends to have a cool grey/ blue to it while many are green/red.
The easiest to id is without a doubt tricolor phalaris, look that one up, shouldn't be able to mistake it. At least not easily.
