No need to apologize man. Pan paps were the first thing I got excited about. They certainly do look active, I thought they were. I've heard that they're indeed edible but they are disgusting.
KG, have you ever eaten a pan pap? For someone who handles so much snakes and is an all around general bad ass, it's hard to believe you'd take the Internets word for it, ever eaten these? As gross as people say? Haha. Probably not, but maybe I can peer pressure you into some silly, but safe fungi taste tests. Hahaha. For science. Or my sick twisted amusement, whichever is more appealing to you.
Rock on though, keep in the right track! In my experience finding pan paps is a good sign there are actives in that area. Panaeolus species does have a few actives in it, but they also seem to enjoy the same environment as cubenesis, and other psilocybes. Usually cubes, in my experience, are growing around panaeolus papilionaceus.

I have eaten them before And I will never do it again, disgusting Pan paps are about the only species of panaeolus you'll find in dung here,no actives, except for cinctulus which is as rare as finding an ovoid
