Genetics From Pastywhyte

Just a little something I'd like to report. Received 5 varieties of psilocybe cubensis spores from user Pastywhyte. Varieties received were, 2 swabs of Penis Envy, and prints of, Fiji, B+, Cambodian, and a mystery variety labeled with a "?". Got em' germinated on agar, and now they are transferred to grains.
Fiji.

B+.

Cambodian.

"?"

The Penis Envy swabs never took to their agar mediums so the petris that were inoculated with the Penis Envy spores were inoculated over with something else.
Did a little something different, and mildly interesting with the grain prep. Grain substrate used was rye soaked for two hours with the addition of 15% field aged horse manure, and 3% gypsum. After soaking for 2 hours the grains were brought to a boil, and sustained at boiling temps for only a few minutes. The end-of-the-boil-cycle water was collected, and placed in the freezer for storage. Plan on mainly using some of the horse manure fortified GWLC for the Agaricus Bitorquis, Panaeolus Cyanescens, and Psilocybe Galindoi species. Anyways, just thought I'd post this here, as well as, post progress as developments are made. The end game for these genetics are simply to go from colonized jar to minimono, one jar one minimono, in attempts to collect prints, thus beginning my own genetic library of cubesis spore prints.

Thanks. Nah, you are experiencing an optical illusion. These are MS inoculations, not single sector monocultures. Remember, the entire purpose of this grow is to propagate spore prints of each variety, and start a genetic library of active spore prints.
The agar media on those cultures used was pre-mixed, enriched, light malt extract agar from Fungiperfecti. The enrichment is their own special blend of high quality, laboratory grade nutritional yeast, and peptone (soy) along with light malt extract and agar agar. Fungiperfecti's enriched LME agar is designed to promote luxuriant growth, so said luxurious growth is what you may be seeing displayed in the pictures above.

Ahh ok, that makes more sense based on what you were saying in the post. Thanks for the info, I'll need to check their agar out!
