Come on el nino! (stupid, wont let me put the spanish n there. wtf.) Actually having a Fall would be nice.

Here are some finds friends and I made and photographed. Enjoy and happy hunting! Best year in 6 years!

First find of the season at bottom of mulched neighborhood trail into woods growing out of clay/sparce wood chips(black). Beg. of sept.

Along side of a creek, some growing in the ground cover or in the open out of sandy material.

Side of a trail under pine trees and pine straw litter. Growing right out of very sandy substrate.

Lowest part of an access road by the guardrail growing right out of clay. solitary.

Grass and brush intersection along edge of large drain basin growing among the grass and large briars.

Shroomdoom and I have had a good season, I just wish I was there for the last set of photos!

This next pic is for the new guys that need to know what to look for when hunting in bermuda grass. It is a zoomed out picture of a patch of grass that is hiding about 10 dry grams of p. weilii. You can only see a few from where I am standing, but once the grass is moved aside the rest were found. This is just a good example of what to look for while walking bermuda grass fields.

This won't help until the next good rain, because right now it's mostly worthless to hunt these areas. But keep this in mind when the rain comes!

Those were taken the weekend after the big rains, like 9 or 10 days ago I believe. Some of the first few sets were during the week, but that last epic set was on that Sunday if I'm not mistaken. I decided to watch football instead of going out that early with him, then I get hit with these pictures and hated myself haha. I didn't consider the idea that it might not rain again for a couple weeks.

How far north do you live in Georgia?! And OMG great finds!! This is like my dream considering I'm a noob... And when you look in Bermuda grass, is that at any specific area? Like apartment complexes and suburban neighborhoods? Or is that just a random lot? It just been looking everywhere and I think I just look in the wrong types of habitats!

10/11/15. What is photographed is the second flush while it's been in my care. The patch fruited even larger than that on 10/8 but my camera died. :frown:

Paulding, Cobb, Cherokee, and surrounding cities. It's a large area that we hunt as we have moved since starting the hobby but return to old areas. I've found them in any bermuda grass areas, but most of my success has come from high end neighborhoods and roadsides. This year I've put more effort into non bermuda areas, which is mainly the edges of shrubbery and thick weeds along the sides of bermuda fields. This is due to lack of consistent rain though, if it was raining every few days I'd be nearly 100% bermuda probably.

Quick question: about how cold does it have to stay at night and in the day for weilii to stop growing? I see some cooler nights and rain ahead but I wonder, will temps into the mid 50s hinder growth or is that optimum at night?

Last day before the likely on and off multi day rains! Everybody do a rain dance, sacrifice a weilii, whatever it takes because I need another few flushes to be satisfied with the season!
