Sounds like a plan. I've been walking the edges of thick shrubs where they meet the grass and have had a few good finds but nothing great. Tomorrow morning I'm going to go check some more areas specifically with your advice in mind.
Was surprised to find these older dried out ones growing from this type of rocky, crap clay/sand mixture.

I suspect the group will be very potent though.

Lets hope they knock your socks off !!!
I also am only finding small dried up fruits... Just maybe they'll give me a dry gram They are all thirsty, I am probably going to have to get into the woods since the lack of rain

I live in Macon ga and have been researching shrooms for a while.. But have found nothing. Should I look for weilii in suburban areas or cubes in cow fields? What would have more luck? And what about golf courses! I've never checked them? Are they usually good? I'm just looking for good info near Macon areas! Thank you all!

Onlinemushroomer420 Read this entire posting all 24 pages and every link within. Also 4 days ago, there were barely any weilli found 5 caps, then 3 days ago I thought I wouldnt find any more 3 caps. Then 2 days ago. Went JUST cuz and BARELY BARELY BARELY found 1 cap. Went yesterday like a retard and found NOTHING. There is NOTHING out there. Unless you like boletes and muscaria. its no sense in going on a hunt. An indication that weilli are fruiting in other places is seeing False parasol in my across street neighbors yard. Also when puffballs are barely growing is bout when weilli begin also.

Keep at it man! Until it rains again don't waste your time searching bermuda fields, it just isn't worth it. You may find some, but the chances are slim and they will not be big healthy fruits. Instead, walk along the edges of the grass and look in the shrubs, pinestraw, bushes, briar patches, etc.

I took your advice and went out specifically thinking about this today. I was walking along a bermuda grass area with pinestraw islands filled wish bushes. One bush had a big bulge under it, and when I lifted it up I found these:

They were already cracker dry, but that just saved me some time I suppose haha. I wish I was a few days earlier, but it was nice finding this and putting together one more piece of the ridiculous p. weilii/caerulescens puzzle.
Every time I think I have this mushroom figured out it throws a curve ball. I knew they could grow under pinestraw but this is the first I had found quite like that. My hunting buddy found one growing out of sand last week, and I found several clusters growing straight out of a rock/sand/clay mix. I had a HUGE season in 2009, but they were 95% bermuda finds. This year I have found a small portion of what I did that year, but I have learned much much more.
thanks for the help!

Not bad at all.OnlineJeffedelic In fact pretty %$#@%$# good. I went out YESTERDAY barely found tiniest zhabalzze. I even searched through tall grasses and found some Lacrymaria lacrymabunda, Weeping Widow mushroom large clusters brand new and healthy but weilli is not so blatant and about 8 times as rare in my O.
Also the place I searched is a park with known crazy weilli flushes and when they grow they grow.
In a for sure place you need a truffle pig and might not even find a single 1. if you searched today or yesterday..
Tomorrow or after. (You have to be stupid till it rains again)

They are still pushing up fruits in alot of the pinestraw patches I photograph. Like I said look in areas that hold moisture or in areas that are irrigated.

Yup they're there! At least weilii are... I found most along a treeline... No preference to trees with my findings. Flushed twice if found early... Found some within the treeline about a foot in, they flushed three times if found early. I found some in a ditch, they didn't come back... Found some in grass they didn't come back...
If I found them blackish blue and rotting, the patch did not come back , this is typical in my experience however.... Grass were my most meaty, only found two. Pics below! They only blued on the mycelium... or at the base... These two mushies weighed 38 grams wet! unfortunately I did not put up something to scale them

Keep looking guys. I still found some yesterday, and I know of quite a few places that are still puddled with water and not dry, I dunno if they will pin there now that the weather is so cold, but I've only not found something one day out of the past week...
If ur lucky you will find some woodland Good luck

I think it's supposed to warm a little later in the week, so maybe these colder mornings will help the ground stay moist in some areas. Lets just hope for another good few days of rain before the winter sets in.
