I've read before that they survive and will fruit after the water recedes.  I've never personally seen it though.

il let you know if it has any drastic changes after the floods, next month when ovoids pop up here.

Spring floods destroyed my habitats last year. Flooding is not good probably anytime after the spring warm up. There is just no time for them to recover. Closer to when they are ready to fruit, the worse the prognosis. One creek that had a really bad flood the day after my first find never recovered. There were almost no fruits last year.

I spotted this one in the grass today. Looks like it survived a run-in with the lawnmower man. Otherwise, not seeing too much. Lots of mycelium at a couple of places that fruited last year but not this year so far.

That's good to hear, same thing with my patches, tons of growth but no fruit.  Should be an epic year once it gets underfoot.

So quick question regarding ovoid development. Do they start to really pop when the weather warms up? I have been out looking a few times so far this spring with no luck. Just wondering if it's still maybe a little early In the season. Not going to give up, that's for sure! Going to hunt a bit today before I head into work.

On the topic of clusters...

Sorry for the shitty phone quality picture, it was sent from a friend through text messaging so it compressed the file.
