Hello. This is my first attempt in growing magic mushrooms. I have had experience in growing weed so I thought I would try this out. Any ways here is what I have done so far. The creeper spores used in this grow are from Ralphster, I am very impressed with his service. Thank you. October 27, 2003 I mixed up my substrait of BRF and vermiculite according to the PF-Tek for simple minds. http://www.fungifun.org/ I pressure cooked 12 jars for an hour at 15 pounds of pressure and let them to cool unopened for a full day. October 28 I brought the cooled jars in to my room and proceeded to spray Lysol. I washed my hands with soap and then some alcohol. I inoculated each jar with less than 1cc, probably about 3/4cc per jar. After that was done I set them in my incubator (tub in a tub, 125w aquarium heater). The incubator was set to only 75F. October 30 After browsing the forums a bit I found my temps to be too low so I bumped the temp up to 84F and also added a small piece of tupperware into the chamber with water and couple splashes of h2o2 in it. This was done to prevent the jars from drying out. November 1 The first signs of growth are found! I was so excited. November 6 Apon checking all the jars again I have found a 4 jars or so to be at about 60-70% colonized. A few and lagging behind a bit but all have good growth. I am very surprised at how fast these jars are colonizing, it has only been 9 days since innoc and they are looking excellent! November 7 Jars continue to grow fast. Flipped the jars that are far along. Here is a stack of the six best jars. Here is a nice jar. Only 10 days after innoc. This is the only uncolonized patch in the whole jar. No more room for the day. I will keep you up to date. November 12 Today I moved 10 of the 12 jars to the fridge in a black bag that was tied closed and boxed. They will stay there till I get back to school the Monday after Thanksgiving. I will not have enough time to case and finish before I leave, so this is the plan. I will procede as normal upon my return. All cakes in cold storage. Pics of the two almost finished cakes to be birthed as cakes. Stay tuned. December 4 Out of cold storage! I cased the jars Sunday night, the 30th of November. I cased them in coir, verm, and oyster shell. They are in two 7x7x4 rubbermaid containers. I put 7 in one and 4 in the other, kind of running a little comparison on yeild and such. They are covered /w platic wrap and inncubating at 85F. I see a little bit of myc poking through three days after casing! Here is a picture of one of the casings. They both have a little patch. Look in the upper left of the picture, BLOW IT UP! Here is a closeup! December 6 Just an update of both casing. How long till fruiting chamber? Casing 1, 7 half pints. Casing 2, 4 half pints. I was advised to patch some aggressive points, here are new pics! Casing 1 Casing 2 December 7 Ok, I need some advice! This is 24 hours after the last pictures when I patched. What should I do?!?! Patch more? Let it go? Move to fruiting chamber, start light cycle and remove plastic wrap? Help me out please! Case 1 Case 2 December 11 I put the casing in the fruiting chamber on Monday the 8th. They are under an 18" fluoro running 12/12, fanned 3 times a day and misted every other or when needed. Here are pics A close up Another Closeup Casing 1 Casing 2 December 16 PINS! I have pins! Yea! Here is casing 1, casing 2 got a little contamed, had to hack it up a bit. Another! December 17 New pics! I am getting a lot from the sides, what did I do? Overall I am not too upset since it is my first casing though. Another December 18 New pic, out of the casing due to pins on the side December 19 I think I am about ready to harvest, how does it look? Harvest Update After harvesting one flush from both casing I got 18.8 cracker dry grams. Since I was gone I don't know if the next flushes will be anything good. But the burma jars I innoc'd are about 90% colonized. Next grow coming up! Second Flush Had to throw one casing. The other wasn't taken care up much since I was out of town. But I did get 2 large mushies out of it! 70 Wet grams! So about 6-7g dry! Here are some partially dry pics! Please leave feedback on how I am doing!!!!!

When 20 to 30 % of the top is covered withh myc. Than you should put it in the fruiting chamber. Mist a few days till about 70% than increase air exchange and lower your misting.

I think it looks pretty damn good. May be a little wet, though. Also, you might want to patch up the aggressive points of mycelium. Good luck and good growing.

I just sprayed it before taking the picture, that is why it looks wet. Just put some more casing on the agressive points? Just a thin layer?

Oh, and you really don't need to spray your casing while it's incubating as long as you have a cover keeping the humidity up at around 95% or more. I see in your pictures you do have a cover, so, don't mist unless it looks too dry.
