Panaeolus sp. Possibly P. cinctulus? - I.D. Request -
    #21587555 - 04/23/15 07:37 PM (9 years, 27 days ago)

I don't know much about P. cinctulus, but this specimen didn't look at all like P. papilionacues to me.

Habitat:
Southwest Florida
Cattle Pasture
Growing on cattle or possibly horse dung (equestrian trail)

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

 Anyone want to scope it!? I'd love to grow cincts.

It would be a bummer if they all came out looking like this though.

The first post is Panaeolus cinctulus or similar. I've been finding them everywhere lately at the ranch I frequent, always growing from cattle manure. Cool find!

 Sweet

I want to put that print to agar but I'm still not 100% on calling it P. cinctulus.

I'll probably find some more this season though.

Thanks! I'm just using my iPod and a jeweler's loupe for the close ups!

My girlfriend hates it when I steal her DSLR to hunt mushrooms.
