I'll DM. Y'know, I've played D&D since I was 12, but I've only actually played in two or three games  I'm always the DM.

I can't do cam based, it'll have to be text.

I'm up for any and all suggestions.

First question is what edition? 3.5 or 5e? I won't play 4e, I hate that edition.

Well I think establishing a method of gameplay would be best. Are you thinking text based?  Real time? Would we set a gaming hour aside? D&D takes a lot of interaction to move the game along. We could do it on the boards. The pm capability would come in handy. The DM being responsible for rolls would seem to be a good idea. A cam based game would work as well but I don't know into that I would be.

We could use the msg box system. You can do mass emails, unless its incorporated into regular :pms: also if there is a program that will work then that is fine too with me. I really don't care. I am interested in what kind of campaign and stuff later on once we get things more fleshed out but impartial to most anything with everything else

Also I would think setting a few hours a couple days a week or more if people are that interested.. or however we want really. But as you said interaction is important to keep people immersed in the game. If people fuck off for weeks on end the games going to eventually die

well in a few weeks I'll be able to put down 5 bucks for D20 . Like I've said it makes it so much easier than just text or cam

How does D20 work? The only times I've played online were play-by-post, so I figured the easiest way would be to do it on the forums.

I'm sure if no one else can fork it over than I wouldn't mind doing it before 2 weeks. Then again, it may take a while to get things fleshed out anyways.

Certain rule books have certain classes right? Not sure if that ever changes. I need to figure out what character I'm going to run. Whoever thinks they might be playing, it would help to mention what class you would want to be so others might be able to choose roles more suitable if they want anyway.

I wouldn't mind doing a thief , ranger or barbarian. I prefer range classes or tanks .

I used to run a wizard but don't have the books and ain't nobody got time four that .
I knew 3.5 rules the best. Oh yeah have any of you played any of the black Isles games back in the day. Man I loved those

I'm thinkin' we should play 5e you guys. I've got the books on PDF if anyone needs it. I'll allow all currently published material for 5e. I'll make a more official thread in a little bit.

This is awesome, y'all!

I didn't think there'd be this much interest.

:girlishjoy:

I'm working on the details now.

What kind of themes would y'all like incorporated into the campaign?

So there is a mod that I've found well several really that combines BG1 &2 into one massive game. It also has several fixs deleted content and a bunch of shit added. They are still doing regular updates. Oh and BG 1 is played on the BG2 engine.

It takes about 30-45 minutes to set up. But you can customize so much it's mind blowing.  I don't know how long it took me to finish the whole thing with a wizard but I would say at least a year . I did have it on hard with mods that make it harder .

I think they did the same with icewind Dale 1&2 also.
And of course planescap torment.
You can find the link / how to guide on gog can't post. It I'm on my phone

It would be awesome if you could combines all of them .

I've played all of them except planescape torment and the first baldurs gate. Done Icewindale 1 and 2 as well as baldurs gate 2 i think. I played some of the original baldurs gate but i was young at the time and couldnt fully appreciate it. I was in love with it but boy did i suck. Having it run on the BG2 engine sounds nice.!

Ok you have to play plane scape . It might be the best one of them all. It's crazy good.

I always get side tracked but grabbed it up recently as well as the rest of the games to play through again.

I've never played any of the video games. I've always been more of a tabletop guy.

Same here, I prefer imagination over rendered graphics.

I enjoy table top too but the games offered their own spins on worlds that I've read about for years. Forgotten Realms in particular. They operate based on the rule systems and everything and you can have it show dice rolls and other stuff too. They both have their own place and neither are better than the other IMO. I did enjoy the video games more but that was because I was more immersed than the table top games I've played thus far.
