3.5 is awesome. I'm really diggin' 5e as well. It's very reminiscent of oldschool D&D

I've heard the same, but sadly I don't have the means to purchase the core rule books for it yet.
Nothing better than plain ol' AD&D, my friend's dad has the original core books from the late 70's.

Include Deities and Demigods as well as Fiend Folio. Make sure that monk and assassin classes are present.

Hey, I'm interested, but never played. Any tips on where to start, rulebooks etc?

Well, a new edition has just started, and a lot of people are relearning the game again, so don't be discouraged.
Here's a link to the basic breakdown of the rules. If you'd like to learn more, I suggest picking up (or downloading) the 5th Edition Player's Handbook.
And you'll need some fancy dice

It's not all that hard to pick up. You would be playing with others who know what they're doing so you could just ask questions when need be.

I dont want to do that shit. Fuck that, too much work. Regardless, someone should take charge and start polling what we should do campaign wise and all that other stuff so that we can get things fleshed out. We seem to have enough interested, at least 4 or more so far. I'm sure more will be interested as well if we get the ball rolling.

I would be more interested to see how the dynamics of the game would work out?

Well I meant what we're doing in general. I don't know a whole lot except enough to play. But I know there is a lot of work involved getting started so figured we better narrow down some things now.

I'm already DM'ing a campaign and regular one shots at the moment so I'd be looking to play...

Well I think establishing a method of gameplay would be best. Are you thinking text based? Real time? Would we set a gaming hour aside? D&D takes a lot of interaction to move the game along. We could do it on the boards. The pm capability would come in handy. The DM being responsible for rolls would seem to be a good idea. A cam based game would work as well but I don't know into that I would be.

What about D20 I've used that with a good buddy of mine. Worked better than text it is free and we get to see stuff real time.
