Clear 66 qt would be ideal.

I have 30 liter tubs, they are doing just fine. I get about 100 grams dry from 1 tub. Bigger tubs can get you more, but with bigger tubs, the chances of contamination increase a bit. You can choose to spread the risk by growing multiple smaller tubs.

Depends in what you want your spawn ratio to be. Anything from ~30qt. to 66qt.
I run 2 or 3 qts. In a 27qt. mini mono at a 1:1-1.5 spawn ratio. It produces more than enough for my needs at least.

I've always heard that 66qt tubs work best.
I have no personal experience with the matter.

No way. I wouldn't do a 66qt tub with 3 quarts of spawn. OP if you want to do a 66qt tub you should think about expanding your jars. That said, a ~30qt tub with 3 quarts of spawn and 4 quarts of bulk should be nice and fast.

I just said 66 because that way u wont have to buy a new one later, if you want to go bigger. You can look at eatualive's hole positioning. Works extremely well.

I love that huge tub thread!
He can certainly do a 66qt tub with 3 quarts of spawn, but that would take forever to colonize. If he doesn't want to expand the spawn he has a 30ish quart tub would be a good investment. Plus, mini monos are super handy IMO.

oh yea i love it to I don't have any mini's, been using large filter patch bags for the smaller experiments. The mini mono would definitely hold up longer.

My first grow was 2 mini monos of bucket tek CVG spawned with grated PF cakes. I've been in love with them ever since.

30 ish quart size it is. Now this would be called a mini mono tub, is that correct? I understand mini, tub. But mono, what does that stand for? Can any one recommend a nice tek for the 30 size tub? would i be drilling the same size holes as if i was making a 66 quart tub? I have been reading franks 12 steps to mushrooms and seems pretty easy.

Check out "pasty likes mini monotubs" or something like that. He discusses hole placement.
I use 1.25" holes on the bottom holes, and 5 - 1/4" holes on my top holes.

I like the shotgun holes for mini monos. I have a dubtub set up like that. 10 1/4" shotgun holes around the upper tub. I only have 4 open right now, but once all the pins are set I'm opening all the holes.

The shotgun dubtub is kind of experimental still. For a 27 quart mini mono I would go with 1" holes in the normal pattern.
