Need a word about something

Haven't told anybody but 1 friend yet and don't know what to do. I've got a close friend, her name is J, and another close-ish friend, his name is A. J is a very close friend, smart girl, good grades, smokes a lot but doesn't party much, etc.
So J and A went back from a concert we were at together. They were friends until this point, never done anything. Both were drunk and ended up trying to have sex. A was a bit too drunk and couldn't get hard so they went to bed.
Here's where it gets bad.. J while being asleep, around 5-6 hours later she's guessing, semi-wakes up to A's dick in her. She was very drunk/confused and never fully awoke.
She told me all this the next morning, says she doesn't even know if it really happened or not. I told her to text him and ask.
Here's how the convo pretty much turned out J: "Hey were you fucking me in my sleep? That wasn't fucking cool at all if you were" A: "I was I'm sorry I shouldn't have, my sex life is pretty dry but I shouldn't have done that" J: "I can't fucking believe that. Did you finish in me?" A: "Yeah I did I'm so sorry." J: "Never talk to me again"
So A not only fucked her when she wasn't awake but came inside of her too......What the fuck? I was told this yesterday and have felt very weird about it since to be honest. That's straight up rape, isn't it? I don't know what to do really.
We're all one big crew up here. Should I tell the other people in the crew? I feel like people should know how fucked up A was. I haven't talked to him since and don't know what to do. Do I call him out?
Idk, give me a word. J is a really sensitive girl and she's fucking awesome, she didn't deserve this. And I can't believe A, a well to do and long time friend would do this.

I'd count that as rape. It doesn't matter if the A's sex life is "dry" I'd personally kick his ass for doing so. And coming inside her and not even fucking informing her about that immediately, is just even more so un excusable. I'd personally ask J if she's cool telling your friends about it first, then kick A's ass, and just not talk to him again.

Yeah his excuses were fucking pathetic. I'm going to ask her if I can tell people about it. I don't want him to go forward without repercussions to be honest. It really has upset me

It would have upset me aswell. No one should do something so terrible and get away with it. Even if she does not want to let it be known, i'd still say kick his ass and not be friends with him any longer. If someone has done something once, especially something so selfish, it wouldn't be hard to do it again.

The word is rape. She would have a solid case in court if she kept the texts and decided to press charges.

"Both were drunk"
So why would a drunk female go to bed with a drunk male? That makes no sense, very poor judgment on her part.

She might have wanted to have sex beforehand, but that was with her consent. He could have at least maybe woken her up and asked her. It was just a dick move. He didn't want to lose the chance of having sex again so he raped her. Not cool either way.

Since the guy was also drunk, he isn't able to give consent as well in many cases.
Two very intoxicated people going to bed and then having drunk sex is just that, poor judgment.

I agree, poor judgement. But if the guy sobered up enough to both remember and begin raping her, it's more of his fault then hers. Him going to prison for it, I'm not so sure it'd be right. But I'd still kick his ass any day.

She kind of wants to go to the cops and I don't know what to say

If she feels that hurt about it, be there for her. I'd let her go to the cops, it's her decision. Even if they were drunk, he shouldn't have done that while she was asleep.

They might not take this case very seriously, going to bed drunk with a man isn't going to get much sympathy from law enforcement, or even other women.

Nah the cops will take it seriously. It doesn't matter if it was poor judgement for her to go to bed while drunk with some drunk dude. He fucked her in her sleep. That's rape plain and simple.
It's also poor judgment for a girl to walk in a bikini in a bad neighborhood at night, but if some guy tackles her and fucks her, it's still rape.
If she's willing to press charges, call the cops. Not much you can do if she doesn't want to cooperate though. You can call even if she won't, but it won't get very far. They'll need her testimony to make anything of it.

Always consider that the female part of the story can be bullshit as well. If they were able to make out first and she actually remembers it, it's very unlikely she goes comatose afterwards. She just didn't want him to stop and hasn't told him, maybe she even liked it but made up her mind the next day. Doesn't sound like a solid story to me.

A sleeping or unconsious person cannot give consent. If a man or woman had sex with someone who is sleeping or unconscious, then they are guilty of rape. It doesn't matter if they slept in the same bed, if the rapist is drunk, if they are married, or if they had been fooling around beforehand. An unconscious or sleeping person is unable to give consent, plain and simple.
Also, OP said the guy admitted to raping his friend via text. Make sure she keeps those texts OP, they will help her case if she goes to the police, which is something she has every right to do.
For all you little trolls condoning rape....

It's not a solid story, I'm sorry, but if I'm fucking a woman she's not going to be able to sleep through it.
Who the fuck admits to having sex with a passed out person on text? Nobody.
