PF Tek First Timer Questions and Pictures

Hello to you all! I've been visiting this site on and off for over 12+ years, it's a really great community. It takes me back a bit to be posting on a BBS. It's been a while.
I decided to start with the PF Tek. I had nearly everything I needed, aside from the verm and perlite. It's funny as a Chef I don't own a PC, but I do own a very large canning pot that I use in the fall for canning vegetables. I followed the Tek to a T, and the jars were left to cool over night, then inoculated them in a glove box. Taking simple precautions such as a draft free room, a shower before, clean clothes, latex gloves, disinfectant, ect.
The jars began to show colonization 3/4 days after inoculation. They have been colonizing for 26 days. I don't have any signs of contamination, although I question their % of colonization.
They seem to be close to 100%. All of the bottoms are covered. 16 jars total. Kept between 73-77 F. In a dark cabinet.
I think I went a little thick on the dry verm layer.
There is a few spots where a few verm particles are stuck to the jar, is this an issue?
Some of the jars have cakes that have shrunk a bit, I have read that this is normal.
Yet, some of the jars express the spiderweb-like mycelium growth however lack the "cakiness" look of it? I don't believe it to be mold. Just not a full mycelium take.
It's hard to tell how the cakes actually look, because the jars are smooth on the inside, and decorated with diamond shapes on the outside, obscuring my view a bit.
What do you guys think? This is just a sample of a few jars.

Those 6 jars are ready to 'consolidate' or, depending how long they looked like that, birth. Looks great! Good job!

They have looked like that for nearly a week.
Just to be safe I was going to give them a month.
25th of March to the 25th of April.

Sounds like you got a plan! Have you made a SGFC yet?

Yes sir!
I am planning on doing two, since I have two different varieties.
On another note, the perlite I have is a slightly smaller grade. Would it effect anything if I line the bottom part of my SGFC with plastic screen to prevent it from falling out, while letting in the gas exchange?
It's not sand like, just I don't want a mess of perlite on the tables where I'll be fruiting.
