Browning on Thawed Bridgesii

I've been in the process of making some tea out of bridgesii; after freezing and thawing the second time, I noticed that a number of chunks have gotten startlingly brown. I can't tell what it might be due to or if it would be harmful to ingest...
When skinning and cutting the cactus up I noticed that under some 'scabs' on the outside of the cactus there seemed to be small amounts of browning in the immediate area. I figured it couldn't be anything too harmful as most of the cactus looked fine and there were no red flags for mold, or anything blackened. I cut the worst of it away and threw it in the pictured container for the better part of 24 hours, then took it out to thaw. I fell asleep around the time it was probably done thawing, and woke up 5-6 hours later realizing I had forgotten about it (along with a piece of raw lemon-coconut cheesecake a friend had given me a piece of that I had intended on consuming *sigh*). I put it back in the freezer, not really inspecting the cactus, and went back to bed, and after waking up some hours later took it back out to thaw.
By the time it had fully thawed this time, I noticed the stated discoloration when stirring the chunks about trying to squeeze the last of the liquid out. Does anyone have any input on what this could be? It oxidizing, rotting, growing mold etc. I was hoping to consume it as a tea for tomorrow, but if there's any chance it could be harmful I really would rather not. I take psychedelics for healing purposes, and would find it fairly inappropriate to cause harm to myself by not 'being safe' about it. I have more than enough problems, and don't need practically the only thing (psychedelics) that helps me to give me more.
I'd just remove the discolored pieces, but they've already been in contact with the rest of it, as well as the thawed water must now contain any possible contaminants. I imagine that during the first thaw it was probably outside the freezer for maybe 10 hours or so... I threw it back in the freezer a third time after searching the internet and shroomery for similar browning issues and not coming to any real conclusions. The fact that I had cut away the browned material, and it seemed like it spread after being at room temperature for a period, seems very sketchy to me. It also smells very strongly; it doesn't smell particularly like its going bad, but it definitely was more startling than the other times I've worked with cacti. I noticed the smell before I noticed the browning, but the cactus did not initially smell this way, nor during the first half of the first thaw.
After the second thaw. Im fairly sure there are more browned pieces buried under there. The flash makes the discoloration appear lighter than it really is.

Thank you so much for any input!

well, if you don't feel to trash it, just remove all the brown pieces. I wonder if boiling would be ok. It should remove contamination/bacteria so you can eat/drink it safely, but i guess that it could also alterate the alcaloids.

Looks like oxidation or bruising, imho.

I've noticed the same thing on thawed bridgessi chunks to a lesser extent and it was fine. Me and my friends had a great and very clean trip.
