Anyone thinking about ordering from Out-Grow to the UK I would like to recommend them.  Great service, good prices and my order only took 3 days to arrive, which is quicker than a few UK suppliers I have used!

Has anyone seen a decent sized pressure cooker deal recently?  There was a 26 litre one for £30 linked earlier in this thread, but that isn't available anymore. :undecided:

Seems the US have pressure cookers the size of swimming pools and I'm struggling on with my 7 litre tiddler...

You can get a Presto 23qt shipped from Amazon US for about £95 all in.  I'll post details of how to do it if anyone wants.

Half this cost is shipping and duty but it was the cheapest deal I could find for a large PC at the moment.

Anyone suggest a UK source for a flow hood pre-filter?

I got my laminar HEPA filter from these guys, they have pre-filters too.  Everything has full datasheets so you can see pressure drop, etc.

Thanks, but I can't take the pain of all the shipping and taxes. :undecided:  I'll hold my breath and cross my fingers for a UK supplier...

Anyone know good places to get myco bags?

I've got some of these:

http://mushroomgrowingbags.co.uk/home/18-type-3t.html

£56 for 100.  Seem like good bags, they work fine and have 2.5kg sawdust capacity.

Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

I caved and after a frustrating day of pressure cooking bags in my 6 liter cooker, one at a time, ordered a 23 quart Presto pressure cooker from the US.  Couldn't help myself, a few glasses of wine and it seemed like a good idea.  £82 for the cooker, £28 for delivery and customs charges.

Good to see some new UK members posting, this thread is a God send, though some of it may be a little out of date.

There's a few of us that can help ya find pretty much anything though, so this is the place to ask.

Welcome to you all. :peace:

These are good bags but I don't remember how much shipping is to the UK.  Probably works out a little more expensive than the ones you linked to on orders of 100.

I grabbed an PureAire Ultrasonic Humidifier 3 Litre from Amazon a while ago.  Lots available on there.  I paid £39.

It's 3 liter tank and very convenient connector make it great for automatic greenhouses. It has adjustable humidity output too!

It has this connector as standard used for the spraying out the humidified air:

But interestingly, "solvent weld" brand plumbing pipe from Wickes is a perfect retro fit.  I paid less than £2 (a 90 degree bend and a bit of pipe) to make a custom fitting:

It's the perfect size to just push-fit onto the humidifier.

It's been working great, I just fill the water twice a week.

As a companion to the ultrasonic humidifier I mentioned above, I've been using the Elitech DHC-100+ Humidity Controller to automatically turn the ultrasonic on and off.  I paid £30 on Amazon for the controller, which comes with the sensor too.

This thing:

It has a whole bunch of configuration settings and has been working great for me.

Great posts! I have been thinking about a couple of different Martha/GH set ups for edibles recently, I kind of gave up on humidifiers due to the hassle, but a 3 litre reservoir sounds a lot less work, just make sure you bleach/clean it regularly, I have ended up misting my fruits with algae a few times due to laziness and lack of attention.

Thanks.  Yeah I've found the 3 liter tank combined with the fact you can control it's humidity output means the water lasts quite well.  60 seconds maintenance twice a week can't be bad.  I've been putting a capfull of Hydrogen Peroxide in the tank each time I fill it.  Not sure if it does much, but it makes me feel better.

If it's a sealed tank then the hydrogen peroxide is a great idea, in an open reservoir it just evaporates straight off the top, but should be perfect for your set up. Iodine also works really well, I think 1 drop will keep several litres sterile, though you may want to check up on that, it's a while since I read about it, though I used that and it did seem to keep the slime at bay compared to nothing added.

That dehydrator looks like a bargain for £45 and free delivery.  I'm very tempted myself.  Although just ordered an impulse sealer, must... stop... buying... gadgets.. argh

Been using one of these for sealing for a couple of years now - mine cost me £3.49 delivered:
