Mushrooms on Food network tonight
    #2156714 - 12/03/03 11:01 PM (13 years, 7 days ago)

The Food Network (231 on my Direct TV) is having a show (Good Eats) tonight at 11:30 and 3:30 Eastern Time on gourmet mushrooms. I thought it might be of interest to a few of you.

i'm sure the host wasn't even considering psilocybian or medicinal mushrooms, so potency is not a consideration. some mushrooms would not do to saute for texture reasons, but in general, this is a good standby for mushroom cookery.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

I caught most of it. I wish they wouldn't make cooking shows so smarmy.

I want to do one where people call in ingredients that they have in their house, and the guy makes something out of it.

Like, the caller would say "I have a few slices of bread that are kind of dry, some sugar, some pistacio pudding mix, margarine, a box of cous-cous and some bacon." and the guy would make something out of that.

At the end of the show dude, and some other people would sit down and eat it, and give their honest opinions. Sometimes it would suck and they would be all like "Oh man, this stuff is nasty!" and dude would be all like "yeah that didn't turn out very well did it. Oh well, tune in next week when I make hotdog fried rice, and dandelion greens!"

Isn't there already a show like that? "Ready, steady, cook" or something ...

keep the grease from the chicken. Steam the tortillias. Mash the pimentos, scrape the mold off the cheese, melt it, and mix it with the pimentos. Wrap the pimento cheese in the tortilla and fry them in chicken grease.

Serve with chicken.
