Arg, Seems Greenie is upon me....and why won't it pin?
    #2156054 - 12/03/03 06:48 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Well, Today after further inspection, I find that the verm I cased with in the bottem right corner of my casing had some mold on it.

I have cut it out (it wasn't very deep) and applied salt to the area.

I see some *very little* but some mycelium throughout the casing that has come up through the verm.

Any advice on what to do? I just can't seem to get the sucker to pin already....

Rh is as high as I can get it (spray it 6-8 times a day) and its at room temp (Low 70ish)

I just cant seem to figure out what the holdup is..........Arg!

:frown: :frown: :frown:

I'll get some pics soon

search for temperature cycling, thatll get you pins in like 5 days. how long have you waited so far? maybe the RH is too high...if you spray 6 - 8 times a day. casings should supply enough humidity for the whole deal just from the top layer as long as your room isnt too dry. i was under the impression you should only mist a casing if its getting dry on top.

Is there lots of water at the bottom? 6-8 times a day could be too much, depending....

If salt was only in one corner, though, it won't hurt everything else. Not much to worry about -- as long as everything else goes well.

Why are you colonizing your casing at fruiting temps?? This will make it take a lot longer to colonize the casing. Also, overwatering the casing can halt the colonization if the casing gets too wet.
