Possible Tyvek substitute
    #8037377 - 02/18/08 10:52 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

Hey all.
I went on a search for Tyvek here in Canada this week and had no luck.
(unless of course i wanted to buy 100$ ROLLS! NO THANKS!)
I went on a search for Tyvek cover-alls and they didn't have any. on the other hand, they had other cover-alls that claim to be laboratory approved. Do you think this is a good Tyvek substitute? since its laboratory safe and all? Im thinking it is a different brand of a tyvek type material. As for a description of the material... it is white and has a lot of dimples (very tightly woven).

it sounds like it would probably work, just make sure it's breathable

you could always change the approach and go with polyfil, surely thats available in canada

yea it is. i use the cover-all fabric underneath the band and then a singly hole stuffed with polyfill for WBS jars. Which failed for unknown reasons. its been 7 days and i knocked with LC and no signs of colonization. It can be because i didn't rinse properly. but usually it would show some sort of mould, no?

Lee Valley tools has them online and in thier stores in Canada...the tyvek coveralls(and sleeves).
I'm wearing a set in my avatar.

I got some pics of my wife wearing them and nothing else...cute on curves I must say...and slightly see thru!...I may be developing some strange tyvek fetish.

Lets all post pics of our chicks in tyvek!
